21st March 1980  : Birth in Porto Alegre, in Brazil, of Ronaldo Assis de Moreira, a child weighing 3,790 kilos and 50 centimetres tall who is the youngest of 3 children of Joao Da Silva Moreira and Dona Miguelina. In the 70's, his father had been a midfielder of good level who moved in the local club, the Cruzeiro. Having become welder, he rounds up his salary by looking over cars of the Gremio Porto Alegre parking. His elder son, Roberto Assis, is a great hope for the club. Ronaldo Assis grew up in the fooall world in the heart of the Vila Nova district along with his dog Bombon.

1986 : Ronaldo Assis looks up to his brother, son first insprirer. He joins the football school of Porto Alegre.

1988  : Year of the tragedy. His father passes away at the age of 42, hydrocuted in the villa's swimming pool offered by the Gremio.

1990  : Being international, his brother suffers from a severe injury in the knee which keeps him away from the pitch for more than a year. During this period, Roberto Assis becomes his brother's agent. Later, along with his rola as adviser, the elder of the Assis will play for Vasco de Gama, Fluminense, FC Sion, Sporting Portugal, Sapporo, and even for Montpellier, during Ronaldinho's first season in France.

1991 : Ronaldinho is aged 11 when he first takes tha plane to Belo Horizonte for a tournament.

1995  : First callings of Ronaldo Assis in the Gremio's young selection. School is put aside.
